We believe that the God ordained roles of men and women brings honor to God’s gospel (Ephesians 5:22-33; Titus 2:5). As such, the Soldiers of Faith Men's Ministry is designed to spur men on toward biblical masculinity (1 Corinthians 16:13).
We define biblical masculinity in the following way: Biblical masculinity desires God, rejects passivity, accepts responsibility, and leads courageously.
We see this definition fulfilled in Jesus, and failed by Adam.
Whereas Adam desired the creation more than God, Jesus desired God. Along with Eve, Adam desired the fruit more than God (Genesis 3:6). Jesus on the other hand desired God. This is clearly seen in Jesus’ practice to pray often (Luke 5:16).
Whereas Adam fell into passivity, Jesus rejected passivity. Adam failed to obey God's commands; passively standing next to Eve while Satan tempted her (Genesis 3:6). Jesus rejected passivity; pefectly obeying God's commands (Romans 5:19).
Whereas Adam disregarded His responsibilities, Jesus accepted His responsibility. God calls Adam out for failing his responsibilities (Genesis 3:9). Jesus joyfully accepted His responsibility to do the Father’s will(Matthew 26:39).
Whereas Adam abandoned his leadership, Jesus lead courageously. Adam put the blame on Eve (Genesis 3:12). Jesus leads by both building His church (Matthew 16:18), and by loving and sacrificing for His church (Ephesians 5:22-32).
